THESE WILL DESTROY YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
What’s more important that a mind that’s working well and takes apt decisions according to the situation.
Ok, I don’t mean a person has a mental deficit or illness if decisions go wrong, it’s natural that our decisions are not applicable everywhere, every time and it’s fine to take your decisions until you have a mind that is Emotionally, Socially and Psychological healthy.
I hope we are on the same page as to how we define good mental health to be.
Every person has a different lifestyle, different conditions to live-in, various thoughts coming up in mind related to family, friends, relations, career, studies, business, etc. Thus, we can state that every person lives with a different mental state and accordingly works and takes decisions.
In my personal life I have been into conditions where my decisions have personally affected me and also benefited me and thus in all my experience, I am sharing a few of many things that we can avoid to keep our mind emotionally, socially and psychologically active and stable.
- Thinking about what would happen.
It’s important that we make decisions after analysing all the rare factors that could happen but more important is to limit your scope of thinking and start working towards achieving what we are planning for. The more you think the more you get yourself trapped in a maze of what, why and how.
Yes, I am talking about Overthinking.
Let us consider if you are thinking of starting a business planning an emergency fund is important but thinking about what if your co-founder meets an accident or maybe got pregnant isn’t required. (I am pretty sure these didn’t happen until now). Keep your mind and thoughts as limited as you can to avoid wasting your energy on what isn’t relevant at that point.
- Keeping your Stomach Unhappy.
Almost everyone has a habit of eating junk food of which few may have a habit of smoking, few addicted to drinking alcohol and few both, this is eventually accompanied by irregular eating habits.
The amazing fact being that our stomach is directly connected to our brain and everything that goes into the stomach directly affects the functioning of the brain.
Food, drinks and smoke that enter our body and contains a high level of acids, fats, etc send negative signals to our brain, these negative signals produce false and temporary happiness while we intake but slowly control our minds. The majority of people who have been addicted to all kinds of stuff have been experiencing stages of depression, anxiety, anger, etc. Every unhappy meal that we put in toxifies our brain.
It’s important to have control over our intakes, have a fresh and healthy diet and take in at regular intervals.
- Being Physically Unfit.
Our brain functions every part of our body and similarly every unfit part of our body affects the functioning of our brain. A person who doesn’t exercise daily meditates regularly, doesn’t take proper sleep, etc. harms his physical body and accordingly it impacts our mental health. Having over sexual wants can weaken your body.
In a very simple manner, we must give our body time to rest and reboot itself by having a night of proper sleep, exercise daily to provide flexibility to our body and meditate regularly to refresh the soul, we practice controlling our wants.
- Keeping it to yourself.
It doesn’t say that you’re an introvert but a person who keeps all his thoughts to himself is the same as producing poison of negativity in oneself.
A lonely mind is a storehouse of negative thoughts and biased feelings. To be specific a person who doesn’t shares what he feels about a specific situation may end up overthinking and bringing in negative thoughts in him.
As everyone stays in different conditions and has a different mindset, we can’t state what’s there in their mind but it’s important that as an individual we share our views, thoughts, problems, concerns, etc with people we know, ask for help to someone you are comfortable with.
Biologically we have various factors of which some can be controlled and some need special attention to get out of it.
What matters here is we must have a strong hold on factors that we can control in our daily life and under every situation to make it easy for us to remain away from negative feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, disbelief, low confidence, etc.
Every decision we make with an unhealthy mind affects us. A mind kept healthy creates a path to success.
